Independent commissioners have approved Waste Management’s resource consent applications for Auckland Regional Landfill. At this stage the decision on the Private Plan Change application has not yet been released.
It’s good to see progress and we are looking forward to working with community groups and mana whenua on this project as it is developed.
A new landfill and energy park to replace Redvale is critical infrastructure required to safely manage the residual waste created by the wider community that can’t be recycled. We thank everyone who has been involved in the project to date, particularly the time and energy that submitters have given to the project.
Our team is now reviewing the commissioners’ decision and conditions of consent in detail.
