The Waste Management team in Blenheim assisted the Marlborough District Council with the clean-up at one of the worst hit areas in the Marlborough sounds.
With the entire team working together, all the drivers, excluding the minimum required for BAU in town, were on their way to Moenui Bay, Havelock, in a little under two and half hours after the call went up.
After meeting at the roadblock at the Picton end of the Queen Charlotte Drive and having their mandatory 30 min rest break, they were off! Negotiating slips, roads reduced to one lane, and the other traffic during the restricting access on Queen Charlotte Drive the convoy of 5 trucks traveled the 29km in a little over one hour and arrived at Moenui Bay to a very grateful community.
Working with the community, contractors and other people there the skips were placed in the best positions for access by the worst hit.
After negotiating the roads the convoy of Waste Management trucks returned to Blenheim after a long but rewarding day.
Nice work team!
