This past Sunday our team celebrated Living Earth’s 2 million tonne input milestone!
Our team were joined by Councillor Penny Hulse, Councillor Bill Cashmore – Auckland’s Deputy Mayor, and executive trustees of Te Motu a Hiaroa Charitable Trust, at the Living Earth site on Puketutu Island, Auckland.
Tom Nickels - Waste Management’s Managing Director, Sir Rob Fenwick - Co-founder of Living Earth and Dave Perkins - Waste Management’s Technical Services General Manager each spoke, touching on the significance of this milestone, the environmental value and benefit of compost, followed by a site tour discussing and production process.
Proudly owned by Waste Management, Living Earth is New Zealand’s largest organic waste to compost operator. For over 20 years, Living Earth has enabled many gardens, crops and green city areas to flourish.
